Processing plants in these regions prepare and package the lobster for marketing around the world.
The price per pound for lobster will vary widely, depending on the sales location, the time of the year and other factors such as export conditions (especially to the U.S.A.).
The
New York Times published an article on August 12th, 1917:
"... a
special lobster-fishing season this year for northern New Brunswick and
Prince Edward Island from Aug.11 to Sept. 15, both inclusive... results
in quality and character of the catch."
