Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival 2009, Fredericton

With big-name international acts and intimate jazz offerings the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival stages its 19th edition. Organizers at Harvest are thrilled that the Festival was awarded the ECMA for Event of the Year, 2009.
Artists include multiple Grammy winners Los Lobos and the legendary Queen of the Blues Koko Taylor as well as two-time Grammy nominee Susan Tedeschi. Los Lobos, based in Los Angeles, is considered the world’s premiere Latino blues-influenced rock band. The 73-year old Koko Taylor is considered the greatest living female blues vocalist, while many consider Susan Tedeschi the finest female blues guitarist-singer on the planet. Other artists include

- Terrence Simien and the Zydeco Experience

- Emerging phenom Nikki Yanofsky
Newfoundland’s top rising rock band, Hey Rosetta!,will also headline the Festival after winning three East Coast Music Awards this year, including Group of the Year and Recording of the Year.
Atlantic Canada's largest celebration of jazz and blues brings together world-class musicians and up-and-coming Atlantic Canadian artists for five days and nights of straight up blues, jazz vocals, classic old-school funk, Latin rock and Louisiana Zydeco. There are over 150 performances on 20 stages for all ages and the capital city really comes alive at the sound of jazz and blues!
