Pollett River Run and Mud Bog 2010 - Elgin, New Brunswick
When: Saturday April 24th, 2010 Where: Elgin, Albert County - beginning at the Community Centre Breakfast is served: at the Community Centre from 7 a.m. until noon
Celebrate spring Elgin-style with the Pollett River Run. For more than 25 years the river run has been a thrilling event with up to 300 people navigating the river in canoes, inflatables, home-made rafts and any thing that will float really.
Up
to 1000 people watch and cheer from banks and bridges and then, at the
'takeout' - near Sanatorium Road - there is HUGE celebration party which features mud bogging
with trucks, 4x4's and ATVs.
Begin at Elgin Community Hall for breakfast and put your water craft in Pollett River just past the Hall. If you plan to be on the water, bring extra clothes because the water is FREEZING.
The actual 'run' takes about 4 hours non-stop although most participants do make many stops along the way; beer breaks, lunch, man-over-board - whatever the reason.
Celebrate spring in wild style at the Pollett River Run!
