More than 2,000 athletes and team officials from more than 180 countries will be welcomed to the Metor Moncton Region for the Championships and a newly constructed, 10,000-seat stadium at Université de Moncton will host the events.


Athletics Events Categories

Track: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 3000m SC, 4 x 100m, 4 x 400m and 10km walk.
Field: Hammer, javelin, shotput, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump and heptathlon.

Background Information

Held bi-annually, the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics are the world championships open to junior athletes (age 18 or 19 on 31 December in the competition year.)

The International Association of Athletics Federations organize the Championship and the previous three host countries are Poland, China and Italy.
